The scoreboard at Fort Dale Academy’s football field will likely be lit up like a carnival ride Friday night.
The fifth-ranked Eagles will host sixth-ranked Monroe Academy.
Through four games this season, the teams have combined for 371 points.
The Volunteers, who have already defeated No. 7 Bessemer Academy and No. 9 Patrician Academy, have outscored their opponents this season 190-33.
But the Volunteers have yet to face an offense as explosive as Fort Dale’s.
In last week’s overtime win over previously undefeated Autauga Academy, the Eagles put 55 points on the scoreboard.
The Eagles (4-0, 2-0 Class AAA, Region 2) rushed for 395 yards in the win, while passing for 182 yards. Junior running back Ryan Burkett and senior quarterback Chip Taylor rushed for four touchdowns and three touchdowns, respectively.
The Eagles will look to extend their winning streak to five games Friday night when they return home for the first time since their season opening win over Escambia Academy on Aug. 30.
Kickoff is slated for 7 p.m.
