The Quality Cooperative in Greenville will host its third annual Hunters Night Out Thursday.
Down-N-Dirty Outdoors’ Eddie Salter, a two-time world champion turkey caller, will be the event’s special guest.
Salter is an Evergreen native that has won more than 60 turkey calling competitions since 1981, including six Alabama state championships. In 2009, Salter was inducted into the Legends of the Outdoors National Hall of Fame.
“I have known Eddie for a very long time, said Ryan Williams, manager of Quality Cooperative. “He came last year and did a turkey hunting seminar for me, but many people do not realize Eddie is an avid deer hunter. He has actually just joined forces with Michael Waddell, AKA ‘The Bone Collector.’”
The event will also include an archery tournament for adults and will feature hunting vendors and discounted prices on tree stands, fertilizer, food plot seeds and more.
The winner of the archery tournament will receive a $250 store credit, while the runner-up will receive a $100 store credit.
The entry fee for the archery tournament is $10 in advance or $20 the night of the tournament.
Prizes such as a Browning 12-gauge A-5 with a wood stock, a Howa Model 1500 .270 and a Yeti 35-quart cooler with camo seat will also be raffled off. Prices are $5 for a single ticket and $20 for five tickets.
Door prizes will also be given out throughout the night.
Williams said the event has been well received in the Greenville area.
“This will be the third year of this event and I feel like it has gotten stronger every year,” he said. “We have had great community support over the past few years and I hope it can continue to grow.”
The event begins at 4 p.m. and will end at 7 p.m. It will be held at the Quality Cooperative, which is located at 485 Greenville Bypass.
