Local ministry to help Filipino church

Following the calling of God, John and Velma Moseley are working diligently to raise funds to help construct a roof on a Filipino church.
“JVM Outreach Ministries is raising funds toward its most urgent mission project, to put a roof on a church damaged by a typhoon five years ago,” Velma said. “Here in the U.S., we are blessed to have good structured church buildings with all the amenities for fellowship and enjoyments. This church needs just the basic roof over their heads to shelter them from rain or hot sunshine during their church services. (It’s) not really a big request if we all lend a hand.”
Ministry in the Philippines is JVM Outreach Ministries’ goal.
“Our primary mission is to support local, on-site, non-denominational Christian ministries in the Philippines, to fulfill the great commission of our Lord Jesus Christ and conduct practical ministry to the poorest of the poor,” Velma said.
The couple plans to go to the church as soon and possible and construct the roof, but monetary donations are needed to help pay for two plane tickets to and from Manila and two tickets two and from the island on which the church is located.
“To save time and money, we gathered and, by faith, we shipped five big boxes of hand tools, power tools and building materials including our regular food and household supplies (canned smoked sausages, crackers and grits),” she said. “Thank God for those few generous small churches and few good-hearted people who were obedient to God and made it all possible. Our conservative budget for lumber and tin top and other unexpected materials is almost reached; we lack just a little.”
Additionally, money is needed for living expenses.
“We intend to rent a small apartment available in town to save money, hence, shipment of food and household supplies,’ Velma said. “We need plenty and constant prayers during the duration of the mission trip for God’s wisdom, protection, strength, provision and power.”
