The Butler County Sheriff’s Office arrested a juvenile Wednesday in connection with a string of burglaries that began in April.
Butler County Sheriff Kenny Harden said the Butler County teen was arrested early Wednesday morning after authorities located a stolen pickup truck in his yard.
“He stole the truck Tuesday night,” Harden said. “He drove it home and when he went to move it later, the steering wheel hung up and he couldn’t get it out of there. He tried to get some help moving it, but couldn’t and we found the truck in his yard.”
The stolen 1997 Ford Ranger led to deputies solving a host of other burglaries, including an April 15 break-in in which the juvenile is charged with breaking into a home and burning the a car that was parked in the front yard of the house.
“He confessed to that, and told us that he was trying to get rid of any fingerprints,” Harden said.
According to Harden, the juvenile also confessed to breaking into five camper trailers at a Butler County hunting camp and stealing several televisions.
Authorities recovered the televisions and the pickup truck.
Harden said the juvenile will be charged with six counts of burglary, third degree, theft of property, first degree, theft of property, second degree, and criminal mischief, first degree.
