The Fort Deposit Police Department is still searching for four black males who bailed out of a vehicle following a high-speed chase Friday night.
Fort Deposit Police Chief Brandon Thomas said no arrest had been made as of Monday, but that his department had a “good lead.”
Thomas confirmed Friday night that a high-speed car chase resulted in a manhunt for the four men in a wooded area off Alabama Hwy. 97.
The Department of Corrections K-9 unit and the Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office assisted in the search.
Thomas said the manhunt ensued after a high-speed car chase that began on Interstate 65 and ended on Hwy. 97 when the men bailed out of the vehicle.
The chase started when authorities attempted to pull the vehicle over for a traffic violation.
