Greenville Police discovered a newborn baby’s body inside a Greenville residence Wednesday, according to the GPD Chief Lonzo Ingram.
Police arrived at 916 Dunbar Park Road at 11:40 a.m. with a Department of Human Resources worker, responding to a tip that DHR had received, Ingram said.
“When investigators arrived, they found a baby girl in a plastic comforter bag with a pillow on top of her inside a closet in the residence,” Ingram said. “Preliminary instigations indicate the child was born last Thursday, April 14.”
The mother of the newborn, Tisha Nicole Pressley, 20, has been admitted to L.V. Stabler Hospital for injuries related to childbirth, Ingram said.
The infant’s body has been sent to forensics for an autopsy, Ingram said. Charges have not yet been filed in the case.
