Due to the generosity of two individuals, more people will be in the know about the Butler County Humane Society’s low-cost spay/neuter program. The BCHS has contracted with Dr. Josh Gardner of Clay Hill Animal Clinic to do up to ten low-cost surgeries a month to assist low-income individuals and help cut down on pet overpopulation in the county.

Billboard company owner Bill Salter is providing one area billboard for free for a year to the organization, while an anonymous supporter of the BCHS is funding the second billboard which feature a phone number that can be called for further information: 334-210-7600.

“We really appreciate Dr. Gardner, our billboard sponsor and Mr. Salter for making this possible. Our low-cost spay-neuter partnership with Dr. Gardner is already proving very popular,” said BCHS president Herbert Morton. “However, it does mean our society has to work even harder to raise funds to keep this effort going. We appreciate the community’s continued support.”

The BCHS’s next fundraiser is Bark in the Park, set for 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Confederate Park Saturday, April 16. A pet contest with prizes and adorable adoptables will be part of the day. The organization will also offer pet sitting and adoptable animals at Calico Fort.
