Fort Dale Academy senior Christen McKeague scored five goals to help power the Lady Eagles to a 9-0 win over Morgan Academy on Tuesday in Selma.
The win was the second over the Lady Senators in less than a week. The Lady Eagles topped Morgan 6-0 on Thursday in Greenville.
“We’ve definitely improved since the first of the season,” Fort Dale head coach Andrea Skipper said. “We’ve become much better with our ball handling and in communicating on the field.”
That showed on Tuesday.
Along with McKeague, Mollie Boutwell and Lauren Gibson also tallied multiple goals.
Boutwell, who scored the opening goal of the match, finished with two goals, while Gibson also scored two goals.
Goalkeeper Kelsee Ryals earned the shutout – the third of the season for the Lady Eagles.
Fort Dale will square off with Macon-East Montgomery Academy on Monday in Greenville.
The Lady Eagles (4-1) defeated the Lady Knights 4-3 in their season opener.
“We’re working hard to make sure we’re ready,” Skipper said. “We were up 4-0 on them the last time we played, and we let them come back and score three goals in the second half and get back in the game. We’re looking for a more complete game this time around.”
Monday’s rematch is set to begin at 5 p.m.
