Clara Brown-Hudson passed away February 6, 2011. Funeral services were held on Thursday, February 10, 2011 from Lomax-Hannon Auditorium with the Rev. Dennis McCants officiated. Burial followed in Magnolia Cemetery with Hudson Funeral Services of Greenville directing. Clara Gwendolyn Brown-Hudson was born on October 31, 1930 in Tuscumbia to the late Edward G. and Ella Brown. She attended Alabama State University and received her Master’s Degree from Auburn University. She was vice-president of Hudson Funeral Services LLC, Greenville and Camden. She was a member of numerous organizations such as Alabama Funeral Directors and Morticians Association Inc., National Funeral Directors and Morticians Association. East Alabama Funeral Directors, Thrifty Tears, Iota Phi Lambda, president of the Butler County Optimist Club, charter member of the Oscar Shambray Butler County ASU Alumni Chapter, a member of St. Paul Baptist Church and a member of the Retired Teachers Assocation. She was preceded in death by a sister, Dr. Callie Warren and a brother, Edward Brown Jr. She is survived by her husband, Eugene R. Hudson, a special daughter, Alicia R. Brown, both of Greenville; a sister, Charlotte D. Jones, Hopkinsville, Ky.; brothers, John D. (Loretta) Brown, Nashville, Tenn., and Pollard Brown, Dothan, a sister-in-law, Hewlett Brown, Montgomery and other relatives and friends.
