Voncile Olive

Mrs. Voncile Olive, 83, a resident of Highland Home, Ala., died Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2013. Her legacy of love, kindness and humility will live for generations to come. She will be missed dearly by her family and friends who all held a special place in her heart. Funeral services were held Feb. 1 at Highland Home Church of Christ with Minister Dean Kelley officiating.  Interment followed in Rocky Mount Cemetery with Turner Funeral Home of Luverne directing.  Mrs. Olive is preceded in death by her husband, Harry Olive; her parents, Dozier and Leola H. Stephenson; four sisters, Mattie Ainsworth, Sue Holmes, Aletha Messick, and Mildred Evans; and brother, Harold Stephenson.  She is survived by six children, Sherrell (Benny) Taylor, Dianne (Jim) Holland, Patricia Brightwell, Dene (Maurice) Pene, Mike (Margaret) Olive, and Donald Olive; 11 grandchildren, Mikie (Laura) Olive, Lindsey (Shane) Cantrell, Beth Defee, Dewayne (Connie) Defee, Cindy Nelson, Stephanie (Tommy) Hickman, Tonya (Dirac) Barbee, Robbie Spurlock, Courtney (Mike) Dasinger, Shane (Leigh) Pene, and Andre (Mary) Pene; 24 great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; two sisters, Ellen (Charles) Massey and Frances Phillips; and her brother, James (Edna) Stephenson.  Active pallbearers will be Shane Pene, Andre Pene, Dewayne Defee, Robbie Spurlock, Matt Barbee, and Corie Barbee.
