This Thursday, the John Harrison Cultural Center will be turning into an art gallery for several hours as a number of local artists put their work on display.
The event is called “The Gifted Works,” and it will feature over 30 pieces of art from county artists.
“We’ve had this idea to showcase local artists for a while,” said Robyn Snellgrove.
The event kicks off at 4:30 p.m. and lasts until 6 p.m., and refreshments will also be served.
“We wanted to make sure that people who work until 5 or 5:30 will have a chance to come out,” Snellgrove said.
The show features work by Lisa Langford, Janet Penn, Evelyn Schofield, Fran Alford, Frances Nichols, Hayley Mitchell-Ramer, and Jean Cook.
Snellgrove also said that there are plans to focus on the artwork of children during upcoming shows, and anyone who has art to showcase is encouraged to contact her at the Crenshaw County Economic Development Office.
“We hope this is the first of many,” she said.
