An armed robbery at the Beeline Convenience store in Brantley ended in a brief search on Monday night.
Shortly before 6 p.m., Paul Sealey Jr., 31, of Brantley, entered the store, walked behind the counter and pulled out a handgun, according to Crenshaw County Sheriff’s Deputies.
Deputies say that after the suspect pulled the weapon, he forced the register open and removed the money from it.
Less than half an hour after the robbery, a Crenshaw County Sheriff’s Deputy stopped a vehicle with a passenger fitting the description of the suspect.
Sealey, the passenger, was detained after the stop for a warrant in Covington County, and he was later charged with first degree robbery in Crenshaw County.
Both the weapon and the money were recovered, and Sealey is currently being held in the Crenshaw County jail.
“We appreciate the quick work by all the agencies involved,” said Crenshaw County Sheriff Charles West.
In addition to officers from the Brantley Police Department and CCSO, the Luverne Police Department also assisted.
