Donald Winston Knight, age 68, a resident of Marbury, AL, and a former Butler County resident, passed away Monday, January 3, 2011.

He is survived by his wife Virginia Roy Knight; daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Lonnie Moore; son and daughter-in-law, Don and Vickie Knight; grandchildren, Derek Ross, Austin Knight, Cody Ross, Kayla Knight and Joshua Moore; one sister and brother-in-law, Mildred and Max Spann.

Funeral services will be Thursday, January 6, 2011 at 11:00 AM from Ridout’s Prattville Chapel with Rev. Mike Golson, Rev. Pate Hughins and Rev. Adam Brewer officiating.

Burial will follow in New Prospect Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Sonny Cravey, Jeff Roy, John Stalnaker, Jerry Hendrix, Chris Ingram and Keith Brooks. Honorary pallbearers will be the New Prospect Baptist Church Men’s Sunday School Class.

Mr. Knight was a faithful steward with the work of the Lord and served as chairman of the board of deacons and music director of New Prospect Church and was past president of the Marbury Quarter Back Club. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday, January 5, 2011 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
