Funeral services for the late Mr. Marvin Stewart, 26, were held on Thursday, Dec. 30, 2010 at 2 p.m. at First Missionary Baptist Church. Rev. R. F. McCreary, pastor. Minister Jacoby Thagard, officiated. Burial followed in Magnolia Cemetery. Hudson Funeral Services, Greenville, Ala., directed. Mr. Stewart was born to Richard and Johnnie Mae Stewart on Nov. 14, 1984 in Selma, Ala. He departed this life on Dec. 22, 2010. Marvin (Slim) attended Greenville High School and later became employed by Hwashin America. He was preceded in death by his grandfather Paul Thagard, grandmothers, Daisy Mae Thagard, and Clattie Mae Stewart. He leaves to cherish his memories his mother Johnnie Mae Stewart (George), father Richard (Mae) Stewart, grandfather, Gennie Stewart, two brothers, Robert Patterson, Richard (Kimberly) Stewart, three sisters, Regina Patterson, all of Greenville, AL; Stephanie (Christopher) Patterson Booker, Montgomery, Ala.; Sharon Stewart, Greenville, Ala.; stepsister, Avery (William) Owens, Ft. Riley, Kan.; stepbrother, Kevin Powell, Norfolk, Va.; five uncles, Curtis (Lisa) Stewart, Montgomery, Ala.; Albert (Lydia) Stewart, Woodbridge, Va.; Gennie Stewart Jr., Curtis Thagard, Pongie (Wanda) Thagard, all of Greenville, Ala.; six aunts, Sandra Carter, Winston, Ill.; Annie Ruth (Grant) Lee, Pauline Rhodes, Shirley Thagard, Jackie (Henry) Simmons, Mary Cook, all of Greenville, Ala.; great aunt, Sarah Owens, Chicago, Ill.; five devoted friends, Derrick Taylor, Alicia Taylor, Carlos Carter, Loucuinda Womack and Natosha Womack, all of Greenville, Ala.; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other friends.
