Two men have been arrested for an armed robbery at the Dozier Corner Market on Nov. 9.
Frederick Oneil Jones, 20, of Andalusia and Christopher Rashad Brundidge, 21, of Greenville were arrested Friday morning and charged with first-degree robbery.
The pair allegedly entered the store around 6:55 p.m. on Nov. 9 with what appeared to be a sawed-off shotgun and stole an undisclosed amount of money from the cash register, along with Newport cigarettes and gin.
Both suspects were wearing hoodies to obscure their faces from security cameras.
Dozier Police Chief Terry Mears said that Jones became a person of interest, and he was brought in for questioning following a traffic stop.
Mears also said a number of interviews around the community led to Brundidge becoming a suspect.
“We’ve recovered $60 in cash, a glove and one of the hoodies,” Mears said. “I’m hoping to recover the weapon soon.”
Those items, along with additional evidence, allowed for the filing of charges on Friday morning.
“I’d like to thank Investigator Heath Truman and the Crenshaw County Sheriff’s Department for their assistance on this case,” Mears said.
