After four years, the Saga is ending.

On Thursday, “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part Two” debuts in theaters. It’s the last of a five-part movie series, which has grossed $2.5 billion worldwide, based on Stephanie Meyer’s book series of the same name.

Both tell the story of a teenage girl, Bella Swan, and her vampire boyfriend, Edward Cullen.

Christy Bozeman, a self-proclaimed “Twi-Hard-Fan,” became hooked on the movies after friends turned her onto the book series.

“My friend’s at Dr. (Bob) Crosby’s office were reading them and went on and on about how good they were,” she said. “So, I began reading Twilight the week before the first movie came out. Once I started I couldn’t stop. I couldn’t wait to see who Bella chose, Edward or Jacob.”

For the last three years, Bozeman has hosted a “Twilight shin-dig” at her home the night the newest installment of the series hits theaters. After the party, she and her friends would head out to The Edge to see the latest release in the series.

Bozeman is not alone in her love for the Twilight Saga.

According to The Edge general operations manager Michael Nimmer, the Twilight Saga’s popularity now spans generations.

“When Twilight premiered, it was mostly teens we were seeing. Now it’s 30-somethings and 40-somethings and older. And we’re seeing men who’ve become fans as well through their wives, daughters and girlfriends. It really is a huge thing,” Nimmer said.

Bozeman believes she knows exactly why the movies have become so popular, and it’s not all because of an engaging story.

“In my opinion, the series became popular when they picked Robert Pattinson to play Edward,” she said. “Then the Saga became even more popular when the second movie, ‘New Moon,’ graced the theaters and Taylor Lautner who plays Jacob Black changed. Let’s just say he really hit the gym in preparation for the movie. I know for the first midnight showing at The Edge there were only about 10 fans in attendance. At the ‘New Moon’ midnight premier, it was a mad house. They had showings in several theater rooms. It was crazy.”

Bozeman, who said Thursday’s premier snuck up on her, won’t be attending Thursday’s release, but she’ll find time to see the series finale. She’d also like to see a remake of Twilight.

“The first movie was terrible in a comical way,” she said. “It was so bad it was funny. I’d like to see them come back and remake that one. I’m glad this is the last movie. In my opinion, they milked the series too long. It needs to end.”

The Edge will have a 10 p.m. showing of “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part Two” Thursday.
