Jonathan Bryant has joined Greenville Newspapers LLC as a general assignment reporter.

Bryant, a senior at Troy University studying print journalism, completed a 10-week internship with the Greenville Advocate and Luverne Journal earlier this year as part of the Alabama Press Association’s Journalism Foundation Internship.

At Troy, Bryant serves as an editor on the school newspaper’s staff.

He will work part-time at the Advocate until he completes his degree in May. At that time, Bryant will join the Advocate as a full-time staff member.

“We’re glad to have Jonathan rejoin our staff,” GNL managing editor Andy Brown said. “He did an excellent job for us as an intern, and we know that he will continue to do a great job covering our community. We’re excited about what Jonathan brings to GNL and to our community.”

Bryant, who helped cover football for the Greenville Advocate this season, also holds a bachelor’s degree in computer science from Troy.

He began working part-time at the Advocate on Oct. 29.
