LifeFlight flew into Greenville this morning to speak at Alabama Power’s safety meeting.
The crew landed the helicopter at the Alabama Power building parking lot off the Greenville bypass. Pilot Donna Thrower explained the reason for the visit.
“We just wanted to give them some instructions on how to request a helicopter if they need one and just get oriented here in the community by letting everyone know we are coming.”
After being based in Evergreen for more than 4 years, LifeFlight will be setting up base in Butler County. Thrower says they hope to be settled in by Dec 1.
“Greenville is centrally located,” Thrower said. “We will be able to serve nearby Lowndes, Crenshaw and Wilcox Counties more easily.
