The Fort Dale Eagle Junior Varsity and Pee Wee football squads finished their season last week, each without a single loss. The Pee Wee team beat Lowndes 22-8 to finish with a 6-0-2 record, while the Junior Varsity shut out Lowndes 30-0 to end with an 8-0-0 record.

Pee Wee – Fort Dale 22 – Lowndes 8

Luke Taylor got the Eagles on the board with 1:46 left in the first, running 57 yards to give them a 6-0 lead. Late in the second, Taylor found Lance Powell on a 64-yard pass for another touchdown. This time, the two-point conversion was good, with Clay Thompson scooping up a Taylor toss to make it 14-0.

Lowndes picked up 8 before the Eagles scored again, this time with Taylor running 73 yards for the touchdown, with Taylor also picking up the two-after. Final Score, Fort Dale 22 – Lowndes 8.

Taylor had 4 carries for 147 yards and 2 touchdowns, making him the leading rusher for the day. Andrew Salter grabbed 36 yards off four carries, with Thompson picking up 4 carries as well but for 34 yards.

Taylor was 2 for 3 in the air for a total of 67 yards. Leading receiver was Lance Powell, who snatched up 1 for 64 yards.

Taylor and Salter led the pack with most tackles, with 10 and 8 respectively. Thompson had 4 tackles and 1 interception, and Tipp Richardson also grabbed an interception.

Junior Varsity – Fort Dale 30 – Lowndes 0

It was all Fort Dale during the junior varsity game. Chip Taylor aired it up 30 yards into the hands of Jacob Phillips for the first touchdown of the game. Taylor took it himself 11-yards for the Eagles’next score, with Ryan Burkett running in two to bring the score to 14-0.

Taylor connected on a 10-yard toss to Daniel Hall Autrey for another touchdown, with a screen to Phillips earning them the two-point conversion. Taylor again relied on his arm for the final touchdown, sending it 33-yards to Phillips for 6. Taylor ran in the two-point conversion to bring the final score to 30-0.

Burkett led the ground game, with 6 carries for 88 yards, followed by Phillips with 2 carries for a total of 46 yards.

Taylor completed 11 out of 15 attempts for 190 yards and 3 touchdowns. Phillips had the hot hands, claiming 4 receptions for 75 yard. Taylor Whiddon was not far behind, with 4 carries of his own for 68 yards.

Whiddon also had a good day defensively, claiming 7 tackles along with Taylor. Taylor also picked up one interception. Burkett had 6 tackles, followed by Luke Hamm with 5. Kenny Harden snatched up one fumble recovery for the day.
