Tree knocks down power lines

At approximately 2:45 a.m. Friday, a large tree fell across Fort Dale Road taking down power lines and forcing police to redirect traffic for several hours while crews from Alabama Power repaired the lines. (Advocate Staff/Andy Brown)
At approximately 2:45 a.m. Friday, a large tree fell across Fort Dale Road taking down power lines and forcing police to redirect traffic for several hours while crews from Alabama Power repaired the lines. According to Mike Jordan, external affairs manager for Alabama Power, five customers were without power. Crews were able to quickly restore power to those customers.
