Tigers ranked, Fort Dale tops AISA again

Greenville High School’s big 28-24 victory over Carver-Montgomery last Thursday night has catapulted the Tigers into the Class 5A Top Ten, according to this week’s Alabama Sports Writers High School football poll released on Wednesday.
The Tigers (2-0) are ranked No. 10, one spot below the Wolverines (1-1), which fell from No. 3 in the state to No. 9 after losing to Greenville.
Greenville received 45 votes in this week’s poll. The Tigers host Monroe County on Friday night.
Fort Dale Academy (2-0) remained No. 1 in the AISA poll with its 38-7 thrashing of Glenwood. The Eagles travel to play No. 7 Pike Liberal Arts School on Friday.
McKenzie (2-0) received nine votes and Butler County Magnet School (2-0) received four votes but both failed to crack the Top Ten in Class 1A.
The top-ranked teams in each classification were: Class 6A, Prattville (1-1); Class 5A, Vigor (2-0); Class 4A, Thomasville (2-0); Class 3A, Leeds (2-0); Class 2A, Leroy (2-0); Class 1A, Sweet Water (1-1); AISA, Fort Dale (2-0).
