A verbal dispute early Sunday morning put one woman in the hospital, said Butler County Sheriff Kenny Harden.
Witness reports alleged that two women were arguing over prescription medication when one brandished a kitchen knife and assaulted the other, reported Harden.
“We received a call between 4:30 and 5 a.m. in reference to an assault victim at Meadowcrest Road,” Harden said. “When we got there, there was a female with multiple cuts to her head and her ear cut in two.”
Harden said that this is the first stabbing incident of the year in Butler County.
Rachael Jasmin Stegman, 32, was arrested and charged with assault in the first degree in connection with the incident, Harden said.
The victim, who was believed to be visiting from Foley, Harden said, was transported to L.V. Stabler hospital and received stitches before being released.
