Bond has been set at $50,000 for a Butler County man accused of stabbing his brother to death.
Alton Terry Martin, 53, is currently in custody at Butler County Correctional Facility.
Harden said they have delayed bond until after the funeral was held for Jimmy Martin, 57, on Thursday.
“We typically don’t let them make bond till after the funeral out of respect for the family,” Harden said. “Right now, we are just waiting on the autopsy to come back and give the cause of death, then it’s off to the grand jury this fall.”
Deputies arrived on the scene at Armstrong Road in McKenzie at 2 p.m. and found the body of Jimmy William Martin lying in the yard. Investigators recovered a pocketknife they suspected was used in the murder.
