Almost three months after signing the warrant, Butler County Sheriff’s Department says they have found a McKenzie man wanted for selling methamphetamines.

Sheriff Kenny Harden remarked “we are not playing with meth.”

Steven Kyle, 41, was arrested and charged with two counts of unlawful distribution of a controlled substance. Kyle is being held at the Butler County Correction Facility on a $200,000 bond.

“We found out he was on probation for manufacturing methamphetamines in Covington County,” Harden said. “The task force there had some information that suggested he had come back into Butler County.”

Authorities believed Kyle was hiding in his sister’s trailer. After knocking on the door, the police were forced to kick their way inside, Harden said.

“He told us he didn’t hear us knocking,” Harden said. “We had to kick the door in.”

Kenny said methamphetamine isn’t that much of a problem in Butler County, partly due to the fact that methamphetamine crimes are investigated quickly and aggressively.

“We try to cut it down as quick as possible,” Harden said. “Once meth gets in, it causes all sorts of problems.”
