ABC, CCSO arrest two dozen for illegal drinking

Some 27 were arrested last Sunday following a bust at an illegal drinking establishment in north Crenshaw County.
Law enforcement had received tips that alcohol was being sold on Sundays and without a license, and the Alabama Beverage Control Board verified that for several weeks prior to the bust.
Members of the ABC enforcement and Crenshaw County Sheriff’s Deputies entered the building at 909 Tucker Road shortly after 10 p.m. on July 18.
Arrested were: Bridget Harrell, 39; Letha Willis, 37; Thomas J. Barnes, 49; Diane Oliver, 44; Reginald C. Jones, 34; Peggie Y. Smith, 40; Willie Whatley, 57; Jeffery Jones, 33; Decarus J. Sankey, 25; Teddy Woodson, 31; Velma J. Cargill, 45; Robin McCloud, 28; Trent A. Boyd, 23; Tiffany A. Gibson, 26; Dennis B. Twitty, 48; Brandon Urquhart, 25; Quenton Urquhart, 26; Ashley D. McGhee, 31; Steve Stewart, 43; Timothy L. Franklin, 38; John D. Jones, 52; Timothy Woodson, 32; Dontay L. Beasley, 30; and Donald R. McClain, 49.
The charges were for consuming alcohol on Sunday in a public place.
Crenshaw County chief deputy Jimmy Lecroy also said that the owners will be charged with selling alcohol without a license.
