The incoming freshman class at Greenville High School got their first opportunity to try their new school on for size.
They call it “Freshman Safari” and as assistant principal Ward Thigpen explained, it’s a general orientation for ninth graders.
“They will get to meet their homeroom teachers and each get a copy of their schedule,” Thigpen said. “Then the principal and assistant principal will speak then we give them a tour of the school.”
It’s a chance for them to know “what to expect on Thursday before the rush,” Thigpen explained.
“Its such a big campus,” Thigpen said. “They might get a little overwhelmed if they don’t know what they are doing.”
