Students shine in spelling bee competition

Students from across the county gathered to show off their skills Wednesday in the Butler County School System county-wide spelling bee competition. Honorable-mention honors went to Victor Marshall from Georgiana School, third-place honors went to Gabriella Crittenden from Elementary School, second-place honors went to McKinley Seale Greenville Middle School and the first-place trophy was taken home by McKenzie seventh grader Andrealyn Hernaez. The final word spelled correctly by Hernaez was “mutton chops.”
