County roads deemed impassable; Ice on roads, bridges

The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency issued a media release Tuesday, designating several roads area roads impassable.

All county-maintained roadways and bridges in Butler, Crenshaw, Pike, Covington, Barbour, Coffee, Dale, Geneva, Henry and Houston Counties are considered impassible as of 5 p.m. Tuesday.

The Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT) reports ice forming on Crenshaw and Butler County roadways and bridges. The agency is monitoring the situation and treating roads as needed.

ALEA urges motorists to use extreme caution when driving in winter weather as well as on icy roads.
