James Michael Imm, a resident of Red Level, passed away on Dec. 8 at the age of 84.
Graveside Services were held on Sunday, Dec. 15 beginning at 2 p.m. at Oakey Streak Methodist Church Cemetery with Brother Jerry Varner officiating and Dunklin Funeral Home directing.
James was preceded in death by two sons, Scotty and Andrew Imm; his parents, Maurice and Nina Imm; four brothers, Thomas Imm, Gerald Imm, Richard Imm and Maurice Imm and his sidekick, “Chico”.
He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Anne Imm; his daughters, Roseanne Martinez (Daniel), Joanne Bell (Robert) and Jeanette Motley (Christopher); sisters, Suzanne Sternberg, Maureen Coleman, Marilyn Hart; grandchildren, Joshua Martinez, Dustin Bell, Jacob Martinez, Victoria Motley, Jerica Mosley, Samantha Bell, Christopher R. Motley and Zachary Motley and seven great grandchildren; along with several nieces and nephews.
Jim was born in Ottawa Ohio on Oct. 14, 1940. After graduating high school in 1958, he joined the US Navy serving from 1958 to 1964. He then fulfilled one of his life passions and obtained his commercial pilot license. In 1969, he followed his parents to Florida where he began a career as a contractor. He dabbled in general construction and underground utilities, finally settling on drywall contracting. In 1970, he met and married Anne Sherry Imm. Together they started a family.
For the next 20 years, he ran a successful drywall contracting company. He retired for the 1st time in 1994 and moved to Red Level. Two short years later, he joined Clark Trailer company for the next 22 years until finally retiring.
He was a very loving husband, father and grandfather. He enjoyed people, laughter and being a jokester.
