Deborah Joyce Olive Lewis, a wonderful daughter, devoted mother, loving grandmother and cherished wife passed away on Saturday evening, Dec. 7 at the age of 62.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 13, at Johnson Funeral Home in Georgiana with Brother Charles Box officiating. The family greeted friends from 1 until 2 p.m. with a service at 2 p.m. and graveside following at Wesley Chapel.
Deborah was born Feb. 26, 1962 in Wetumpka to Joseph Paul Olive and Peggy Joyce Wallace Olive. She was the oldest of two children.
Deborah was preceded in death by her grandson Richard Daniel Lewis III, her daughter Rachel Lewis Norwood and sister-in-law, Sherry Olive.
She is survived by her devoted husband of 34 years Richard Daniel Lewis, Sr; her loving parents, Joe and Peggy Olive; her brother, Paul Olive; sister-in-law, Jennifer Lewis; her daughters Melissa “Missy” (BJ) Alford, Lynn Griffin and son Richie Lewis. Her seven grandchildren:(BJ and Missy) Ethan, Branson and Avery Alford; (Lynn) Keagan and Kenzie Guidroz; (Rachel) Hanna and Tricia Norwood; nephew Neil (Renea) Olive and niece Cheri (Joey) Foster and many more close family and friends.
Deborah was a remarkable daughter, sister, and mother known for her unwavering devotion to her family. Cherished by her children for her guidance and support, she brought joy and warmth to her grandchildren while creating a bond that will be forever treasured. Always there for those in need, leaving a lasting impact on everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.
She had a true passion for cooking from scratch and being a homemaker. Deborah’s legacy of love, compassion and selfless service will live on through her family and countless lives she touched. She will be deeply missed by all who loved her.
