Janice Grace Rigsby Tibbets Jones, age 70, of Georgiana passed away at her home on Nov. 26 after an extended illness.
Janice was born in Greenville on July 8,1954, to Clevie Horace Rigsby and Grace Evelyn Page Rigsby. She grew up on Rigsby Road in rural Georgiana and went to Georgiana High School. Janice worked for 30 years with the Alabama Alcohol Beverage Control Board. She was fearless, passionate, and dedicated to her job serving the people of this great state while making a difference in our communities. Janice loved fancy vehicles (Chevrolets only), the Crimson Tide, cornbread and riding around in the evenings listening to music.
Janice was preceded in death by her parents, Grace and Clevie Rigsby, an infant sister and her former husband, Gene W. Tibbets. She is survived by her husband, Tony Jones, and two sisters, Peggy Ann Rigsby Campbell (John) and Marilyn Page Rigsby Stinson (Dewayne).
Visitation was held Sunday, Dec. 1 at Johnson Funeral Home in Georgiana from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. The service began at 2 p.m. with Bro. Danny Dean officiating. Burial followed in Wesley Chapel Cemetery with Johnson Funeral Home directing.
