Austin Ray Womack, age 5, of Georgiana died after a brief illness on Friday, Nov. 22, at Regional Medical Center of Central Alabama. Funeral services will be held for Austin on Friday, Nov. 29, beginning at 2 p.m. from the Chapel of Dunklin Funeral Home with Brother Harold Taunton officiating. Burial will immediately follow at Buckaloo Pentecostal Holiness Church Cemetery with Dunklin Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends for visitation one hour prior to service time. To honor Austin’s precious memory, the family has asked that everyone in attendance please wear either red or blue to represent his favorite hero, Spiderman.

Austin is preceded in death by his grandmother, Shelia Womack; uncle, Billy Mitchell; aunt, Michelle Pate and great grandparents, Joyce Savage, Benjamin Womack and John Henry McCall. He leaves behind his parents, Shelby (Anthony Smith) Womack and Chad Dobbs; siblings, Sawyer Womack, Dakota Smith and Everleigh Smith; grandparents, Arthur Womack, Crystal McCall, Chris Bradley, Fred Smith and Patty Smith; aunts, Brittany Ann Ellison, Katherine Schweizer and Leilani (Chase) Averette and uncle, Jordan (Danielle) Savage; along with numerous other beloved family members and friends.

Austin’s life may have been brief; however, it was extremely impactful. His laugh was contagious, his smile heartwarming, his dreams limitless. Although he admired his superheroes – Spiderman being his favorite – he was all our hero. Austin was a courageous young man who had already overcome so much in his short time. We are thankful God sees fit to bless us with him, even if for a short while.
