The Greenville Area Arts Council is set to bring the nationally renowned Artrageous to The Ritz Theatre on Nov. 19 at 7 p.m. Billed as an unforgettable family experience, Artrageous fuses live music, singing, dancing, humor and vibrant art in an interactive and multisensory performance. Known for its energy and creativity, Artrageous has captivated audiences from Carnegie Hall to NBA All-Star halftime shows.
“We are so very excited to offer a show that will delight the entire family,” said Greenville Area Arts Council Director Nancy Idland. “Artrageous is an eclectic mix of dance, song, music, theater, and art: big, bold and colorful!”
Formed in the 1980s as a theater arts community in Albuquerque, New Mexico, Artrageous has grown from children’s theater and street performances into an international sensation. Their interactive shows are designed to create not only incredible live art but also a sense of community and joy among audiences.
With a history of performing at venues like the World Cup Soccer Finals in Paris and opening for Kenny Rogers and Jay Leno, Artrageous brings a unique mix of fine art, live music and audience participation to each performance.
Artrageous member Lauri Francis says that the group enjoys traveling and having the opportunity to meet new people.
“We’re looking forward to being in the community of Greenville,” Francis said. “ It’s such a pleasure to engage with lovely communities like this to get to know the incredible individuals that make it so vibrant!”
