The South-Central Alabama Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) is gearing up for a Fields of Faith event, set to take place at the Butler County Fairgrounds on Nov. 6 at 6 p.m. The event, open to all ages, aims to unite students, coaches and the community in a night of worship and testimony sharing.
“Fields of Faith is a national event that is available through FCA,” said Jami Sikes, an area representative with the South-Central Alabama FCA. “Not every area does it, but it’s an awesome opportunity to get kids, students and the community to a central location to just share what God’s doing.”
This year, a local coach will be the featured speaker, sharing his own personal and uplifting story to those in attendance.
“We’ll have a local coach speaking and I’m really excited about that because the story is very dynamic, very encouraging,” Sikes said. “We just want to celebrate the students and the coaches and the people in the community.”
In addition to the event, FCA is encouraging community members to get involved through their character coaching program.
“We have what’s called character coaching and a lot of people don’t know about it,” said Sikes. “But it’s an opportunity for people in the community to get involved with FCA and be part of boots on the ground.”
