The South-Central Alabama Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) hosted its annual FCA Breakfast on Oct. 10 at Lurleen B. Wallace Community College in Greenville. The breakfast was catered by Uncle “E’s” and sponsored by Dunklin Funeral Home and Greenville Hardware, drawing support from local businesses to back FCA’s mission of leading coaches and athletes to a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ.

“I’ve been a member of FCA since seventh grade and I’ve been a leader since the 10th grade,” said Fort Dale senior Cade Raulerson. “I like that it brings our school together and brings faith, religion, and Christianity into our school. As a leader, I get to help other students be led to Christ and help build their faith in God.”

Several students shared how FCA has impacted their lives, with Raulerson among those highlighting the organization’s role in fostering both leadership and spiritual growth within the school community. Open to all students and faculty, FCA meets on campus during approved times and members, like Raulerson, work under the guidance of a Huddle Coach to help spread the ministry’s message.

Jami Sikes, South Central Alabama FCA Area Representative, emphasized the importance of the event.

“Our whole vision and mission is to reach coaches and students and help encourage them in their walk with the Lord,” Sikes said. “This event celebrates what’s been done over the past five years and highlights how it’s growing. It’s great to hear from seniors sharing how it’s impacted their walk with the Lord and what they’d love to see for our community.”

The FCA operates year-round with discipleship retreats, summer camps, and options for students to continue their involvement in college or as interns. 

“We also have what’s called character coaching,” Sikes said. “It’s an opportunity for people in the community to get involved with FCA, supporting the ministry and serving wherever the Lord leads them.”

FCA is funded entirely by generous contributions from businesses, churches and individuals. As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, all financial gifts are tax-deductible.
