Superintendent Joseph Eiland recognized Georgiana School 6th grader Kamaria Maye for her recent achievement as the state winner of the Garden Club of Alabama Incorporated Smokey Bear Woodsy Owl Youth Poster Contest.
“It’s always great to be able to recognize our students who have excelled in different areas,” Eiland said. “So we’re excited tonight to have one of those students to recognize.”
Georgiana School Art teacher Janet Crowley praised Kamaria’s creativity and dedication to art.
“She just loves to draw and is very creative,” Crowley said. “She loves to stay in my art room.” Crowley also described Kamaria as a well-mannered, polite and friendly young lady who is always helpful to her peers.
