* The Butler County Civic League will present Youth Empowerment 2024 on Sept. 14 at 2 p.m. at the Lomax Hannon College. Youth choirs and the Temple of Hope drumline will join guest speakers and door prizes and giveaways will be available. 

* Each Wednesday night during the month of September at 6 p.m., Evangelist Johnny Jernigan will be teaching a H.O.P.E. Evangelism Outreach Class at First Assembly of God, 760 N. Conecuh Street in Greenville. These instructors will teach how to reach more people in the community in order to let them know that love never fails and there is always hope.

* Mark Byron will be the guest speaker at Greenville First Assembly of God Sunday, Sept. 22 at 10:30 a.m. The church is located at 760 N. Conecuh St. in Greenville.  Everyone is welcome.

* College Street Church of Christ’s Annual Ladies Day is planned for Saturday, Sept. 21. Registration and a continental breakfast will be held from 8:15 – 8:45 a.m. The program will start at 9 a.m. The theme is “Hold to God’s Unchanging Hand.” Lunch will be served at this free event open to any female interested. * First Baptist Church in Greenville will celebrate its 168th anniversary with a homecoming service Oct. 6 at 10 a.m. Following homecoming is a three-day revival beginning at 7 p.m., with guest speakers Daniel Wilson on Oct.7, Randy Harvill on Oct. 8  and Bishop Wiley Thornton, III, on Oct. 9.
