Allen Lenwood Blackburn, a resident of Georgiana, passed away on Friday, Aug. 2 at the age of 87. He was the eldest son to Leon and Necie Ray Blackburn. He was born on March 14, 1937.

Funeral Services were held on Sunday, Aug. 4, beginning at 3 p.m. in the chapel of Johnson Funeral Home with Bro. Randy Harvill officiating and Johnson Funeral Home directing. Burial followed in Shackleville Cemetery, Georgiana. The family began receiving friends for visitation starting at 2 p.m. until service time.

Mr. Allen is preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Eddie Belle Blackburn; parents, Leon and Necie Ray Blackburn and brother, Ray Blackburn.

Mr. Allen is survived by two sons, Phil (Cathy) Blackburn and Keith (Teresa) Blackburn; daughter, Kaye (Clay) Nolan; three grand-sons, Matt (Jessica) Blackburn, Daniel (Ashley) Nolan and Carter Blackburn; five grand-daughters, Kayla (Reuben) Godwin, Megan Nolan, Melissa (Patton) Gunter, Heather (Blake) Pilcher and Ana Grace Blackburn; eight great grandchildren; in laws, Lloyd (Jane) Phillips, Reese Raybon and Sara Ellen (George) Caudill; brothers, Pat Blackburn and Rex Blackburn and sister-in-law, Brenda Blackburn.

Mr. Allen enjoyed a life of farming, gardening, and Auburn football. He began his career working for L & N Railroad and retired with CSX of 44 years.

Pallbearers: Daniel Nolan, Matt Blackburn, Reuben Goodwin, Patton Gunter, Blake Pilcher and Blaine Chastang.
