On Aug. 1, Bette Jane Braun left this earth and was welcomed into the loving arms of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Bette was born May 4, 1933 to Robert and Marguerite (née Riley) Braun the 4th day of May 1933 in Odenton, Maryland the fourth of five girls. Bette grew up tough on the streets of Baltimore and always remained a “Maryland” girl.
Bette was a beloved mother and grandmother who loved playing Yahtzee, being on the water and stitching beautiful hand embroidery projects. Bette’s family was her greatest joy.
Bette was blessed with children who survive her, Juanita Bollaert, Minnie Ivey, Ramona Carroll- Kufalk (Rob), Lisa Hawthorn (William), Leroy Worsham (Dawn), Eric Worsham (Kelly); her 13 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren; her nephew Rob Francis (JoAnn) and niece Denise Bledsoe.
Bette was preceded in death by her parents, her four sisters, Elizabeth, Roberta, Maxine and Faith, her grandson Adam Davidson and baby granddaughter Sarah Worsham.
The family would like to thank the nurses and volunteers at Southern Care Hospice for their hours of dedication to Bette’s care. A special thank you to Pastor Jason Simmons. Jason formed a precious relationship with Bette and prayed with her and the family. We are forever grateful for his faithfulness. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to the Antioch East Baptist Church Cemetery Fund.

A Service of Christian burial will be Tuesday Aug. 6, 11 a.m. at Antioch East Baptist Church, 2303 Old Stage Road, Greenville, AL 36037, followed by a private burial. All are welcome to join the family in a luncheon provided by the women of Antioch East Baptist Church. Viewing preceding the service at 10 a.m.
