The Greenville Area Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon cutting recently, to help the Town of McKenzie celebrate the realization of a dream for local business owners.
Dustin and Maddie Faust brought a long-time vision to life in May opening the smoothie and juice bar, Rooted Nutrition, in the space which formerly housed nutrition shake and tea spot, Hwy 55 Nutrition.
“We have loaded teas and nutritious shakes and iced coffee,” Maddie Faust said. “We also have a boutique inside, along with tanning and tanning beds. We’re super excited for the support from our small town and we have been doing so well, we are so thankful.”
Previous owner, Bentley Horton Kelley, announced the transition on social media, expressing gratitude for the support she received over the past months.
“It is with much heartfelt appreciation and thoughtful consideration that we are announcing that Hwy 55 Nutrition is officially changing ownership,” Kelley stated. “I appreciate all of the love and support over the past few months. I will definitely miss each and every customer.”
Kelley is stepping down to advance her nursing career at Andalusia Health in the obstetrics department. In her announcement, she reassured loyal customers that the business would remain in good hands.
“With that announcement… comes big news! We can’t leave all of our loyal customers without their fantastic teas and shakes, so coming soon in the same building… Rooted Nutrition,” Kelley added.
“We are so excited to announce that Dustin and Maddie Faust have taken ownership of Rooted Nutrition,” Kelley noted in her farewell message. The Fausts have already introduced several new offerings, including Maddie’s famous iced coffees, açaí bowls, spray tanning, and a boutique.
Rooted Nutrition officially opened its doors on May 17. The drink shop is located at 21737 Mobile Road in McKenzie.
To commemorate the transition and welcome Rooted Nutrition to the community, the Chamber held a ribbon cutting ceremony on June 18, marking the Faust’s’ membership. The event celebrated the new beginning for Rooted Nutrition and highlighted the continued support from the local community.
