Judge J.C. Love, III, probate judge of Montgomery County will serve as the Black History Month speaker at Butler Chapel African Methodist Episcopal Zion Church. Love will speak at 11 a.m. on Sunday, Feb. 25. The theme of the program is ‘Stony the Road We Trod.’

On November 15, 2019, Governor Kay Ivey appointed Judge Love as the 17th Probate Court Judge of Montgomery County. He is the second African American to hold that position in Montgomery County since its founding in 1816. Love is a licensed attorney and was born and raised in Montgomery. He attended the Montgomery Public Schools and graduated from Morehouse College in Atlanta with a bachelor’s degree in political science. Love received his law degree from Boston College Law School, graduating in 2004. He formerly practiced law in Atlanta and Montgomery. 

Love is married to Dr. Porcia Bradford Love, a board-certified Montgomery dermatologist. They have three children and attend Mount. Zion A.M.E. Zion Church and St. Jude Catholic Church.
