Butler County high school seniors have just a few more months until graduation and school leaders are doing all they can to encourage them to finish strong and earn their diplomas. School Superintendent Joe Eiland has invited nationally renowned motivational speaker Willie Spears to address seniors from all three high schools Tuesday. More than 160 students will gather in the Greenville High School (GHS) auditorium at 8:30 am. Spears will inspire students to plan for their future beyond graduation.
At 10:30 am, Spears will speak to nearly 200 eighth graders from the area’s middle schools. They will gather at GHS to hear about conflict resolution, the importance of attending school, being accountable for their actions and the value of a high school diploma.
Born and raised in Panama City, Florida, Spears spent 20 years as an administrator and teacher in Florida, Alabama, and Georgia and is the author of 16 books. The experiences he gained during his two decades in education help motivate, inspire, and remind educators of their value and significance. His strategies and principles have turned around schools and communities.
This month Spears will deliver 35 messages to 10,000 people in nine states. To learn more, visit www.williespears.com.
