Deer Hunt
The 26th annual Fort Dale Deer Hunt is set for Jan. 12-13. Sponsorship opportunities are still available. Contact the school via Facebook messenger or email fdadeerhunt@gmail.com for details.
Blood Drive
Lifesouth Community Blood Center will host a blood drive in the Greenville Walmart parking lot Jan. 14 from 11 a.m. – 4 p.m.
First Assembly
Rev. John Loper will be the guest speaker at First Assembly of God this coming Sunday, Jan. 14, 10:30 a.m. The church is located at 760 N. Conecuh St., Greenville. Everyone is welcome!
Garbage Notice
The city of Greenville will be closed in observance of Martin Luther King Day on Jan. 15. Monday and Tuesday garbage routes will be picked up Tuesday, Jan. 16. Have your garbage to the curb no later than 7 a.m. Tuesday morning.
Responder Breakfast
First Baptist Church in Luverne will host a first responder breakfast on Jan. 27 at 9 a.m. All responders – law enforcement, fire fighters, emergency medical technicians, dispatchers – are invited to enjoy a time of food, fellowship and encouragement. Call (334) 335-5264 for information.
Camellia Show
The Greenville Camellia Show, presented by the Greenville Camellia Society and the City of Greenville on Saturday, will take place Jan. 27-28 from 1-4 at Beeland Park. Camellia plant sales will be available each day while supplies last. Historical Meeting
The Butler County Historical and Genealogical Society’s quarterly meeting is scheduled for Jan. 28 at 2 pm at Beeland Park. The Society is celebrating its 60th anniversary and will kick off the year with a reception and a viewing of the prize-winning camellia blooms at the Greenville Camellia Show.
Pioneer Scholarship
Interested in a career as a utility cooperative lineworker? Graduating high school seniors are eligible to compete for two $5,000 lineworker scholarships from Pioneer Electric Cooperative. Applications are due Feb. 23, 2024. Apply online at www.pioneerelectric.com/scholarship.

Quilt Club meets every Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Greenville-Butler Co. Public Library. Beginner and advanced quilters welcome.
Music Class
