The Alabama Sports Writers Association released results from its recent poll Dec. 12, rating boys and girls varsity basketball teams across Alabama.

Both varsity teams at Georgiana School ranked among the top 10 Alabama schools, with the boys placing third in Class 1A for the team’s then 7-0 record and the girls gaining votes for their 4-6 season.

Fort Dale Academy boys received votes as an Alabama Independent School Association team for their 4-4 record. Lowndes Academy boys, then at 2-1, received votes and the Lady Rebels placed ninth among AISA schools. 

In Crenshaw County, Class 1A Brantley School received votes but did not fall in the top 10.
