The Miss Merry Christmas pageant was held at the Ritz Theatre on Nov. 18. The pageant, featuring 58 contestants, was hosted by Michelle Styron and other Greenville Kiwanis Club members.
Miss Merry Christmas had seven age categories, as well as a People’s Choice Queen and a Claus for a Cause Queen for both the morning and evening pageants.
Funds raised from the pageant will be donated to Greenville Elementary School and W.O. Palmer for new vending machines, Butler County Career Tech for new tools, Natural Resources Camp, the Greenville Department of Human Resources, Safe Harbor, Warrior Jailhouse Ministry, Kiwanis Kids Program, Key Club Social event, Save A Child and several other causes.
Contestants collected and donated new and used children’s books to be donated to local pre-schools, Headstart and Bright Beginnings. Due to the contestant’s diligence, 1,000 books will be read to and gifted to preschoolers.
