Marcus Wright, a 39-year-old African American male, was arrested for driving under the influence after an officer observed his vehicle on Willow Lane near Walmart.

According to Greenville Police Chief Justin Lovvorn, Wright was arrested after a single-vehicle crash on Nov. 25. The vehicle Wright was driving struck a culvert behind Car Wash USA Express Saturday and caused minor damage to the culvert. 

Officers with the Greenville Police Department noticed Wright appeared to be under the influence of a controlled substance and performed field sobriety tests. Wright failed the tests and was found to be under the influence of alcohol.

He was then taken into custody without incident and placed in the Butler County Jail. Wright is currently released on bond.
