Third Annual Pancreatic Cancer Event walk was hosted by 365 Fyne Studio in downtown Greenville on Nov. 11. Latoya Cauthen, the gym’s owner, said it was the largest turnout to date and explained that her step-father John Foster was diagnosed with stage four Pancreatic Cancer in 2020. Foster passed away seven days later.
“We have always said that his fight would never go in vain,” Cauthen said. “Over the past three years God has connected me with families in the area who have also lost their loved ones to this horrendous disease, and we come together to remember those who were near and dear to our hearts.”
Cauthen said she wishes to spread awareness about Pancreatic Cancer and wants the community to know that it is imperative for people to get a simple genetic blood test that can identify this disease along with other cancers.
The studio will partner for a Pancreatic Cancer 5K this spring hosted by SaRhonda Hawkins, who also lost her mother to this disease.
