Mrs. Mary Emma Cooper, 86, passed away on Monday, Oct. 30, in Birmingham.
Services for Mrs. Mary Cooper will be held on Friday, Nov. 3, at 2 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Greenville. Bro. John Girdley will be officiating. The family will receive friends an hour prior to service time at the church. Burial will be held in Antioch East Cemetery in Greenville.
Mrs. Cooper was born on Sept. 12, 1937, and was preceded in death by her parents, Irby Roy and Martha Moseley Harrison along with her brother, Raymond Harrison; she is also preceded in death by her husband of 65 wonderful years, John Golson Cooper.
Mrs. Cooper is survived by her daughters, Sandra Rice (Sean) and Sharon Donde (Raymond); son, Bruce William Cooper (Amy); sister, Louise H. Byrd; brother, Dr. Harold J. Harrison (Sandra), she is also survived by seven grandchildren, Heather Tindal Goodson (Frankco), Jennifer Tindal Jones (Mason), Rachael Nicole Donde, Holly Donde Williams (Ryan), Dalton Cooper Donde, Emma Ruth Cooper, and Olivia Rose Cooper, along with 5 great grandchildren.
Mrs. Cooper was born in and was a lifelong resident of Greenville, Alabama and was Co-Valedictorian of her graduating class at Greenville High School. After graduation, Mrs. Cooper worked at Skinner Furniture in Greenville until she left work to raise her children and family. She was a long and active member of First Baptist Church of Greenville, and of her Sunday School Class.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her honor to First Baptist Church in her memory. Donations can also be made to the Alabama Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association.
