The Mckenzie Tigers prevail against the Red Level Tigers 40-19 Friday night. Head coach Brian Bradford said the team is headed in the right direction.
“It was a great team win over a really good Red Level team,” Bradford said. “We faced some adversity in the first half but I was really proud of how our team responded to it. They stuck to the plan and continued to make plans. I feel we are headed in the right direction. We are off this next week so it will give us some time to heal some injuries and get back to the fundamentals so we can continue to improve each week.”
Red Level’s head coach Kenny Skipper said they have a very young team which contributed to the loss.
“We have an extremely young football team,” Skipper said. “Friday we just made too many mistakes to win. We gave up too many big plays on defense and turned the ball over on offense.”
McKenzie’s Jaylen McMillian No. 2, made two touchdown passes to Skylar Sanders No. 1, as well as a five yard touchdown run. Johnathan Davison No. 7, made a 42 yard and a 30 yard touchdown run.
The McKenzie Tigers are off Friday, and will travel to face JU Blacksher next on Oct. 6.
