The Alabama Board of Pardons and Paroles continued a parole petition from Jessica Ann Bush on Aug. 16, rescheduling the hearing for later this year.
Bush, 45, is held in the Montgomery Women’s Facility, serving a 16-year sentence from a Butler County conviction in October 2018 on charges of distributing a controlled substance. Bush also serves a concurrent 16-year sentence for manufacturing a controlled substance.
During Bush’s hearing, the board heard testimony from her mother, Jerry Armstrong, who spoke on behalf of her daughter’s parole. No decision was made because the board cast insufficient votes and, by board rule, the hearing was reset for Oct. 5.
Four of Bush’s family members – Joseph Vernon Armstrong, Tammy Armstrong Bush, Bradley Bush – are serving time for their involvement in the 2018 murder of J.J. Mount. Jessica Bush was not implicated in their crimes, but evidence presented during the murder trials revealed she was involved with Mount at the time of his death.
